Dr. Philip graduated from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, after double majoring in biology and classical civilization. After completing an anesthesiology residency, he went on to complete a Pain Management Fellowship at the world-renowned Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Mentoring future generations of doctors as an instructor at Harvard Medical School was a passion of his. He also was exposed to the most cutting-edge procedures, which he then brought with him to southeast Wisconsin.
Throughout his career and leading up to his current position at Midwest Sports and Interventional Spine, Dr. Philip has published extensive research and completed advanced specialized training in an array of topics, including vertebral augmentation, lumbar decompression, spinal cord stimulation, the Vertiflex Procedures, MILD™ procedure, and other treatments for herniated discs and spinal stenosis.

Today, Dr. Philip uses his constantly expanding knowledge of human anatomy and pain management to treat patients at Midwest Sports and Interventional Spine for arthritis, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, complex regional pain syndrome, and various forms of musculoskeletal pain. He implements the latest techniques backed by current research, including epidural steroid injections, spinal cord stimulation, Peripheral Stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, the Minute Man procedure, the MILD™ procedure, and the Vertiflex™ procedure. Dr Philip was also the first physician to bring the Intracept Procedure to Southeast Wisconsin. This procedure has helped patients avoid invasive back surgeries.
Predominantly utilizing non-opioids therapies, Dr. Philip’s goal is to get people back to enjoying their activities of daily living. In fact, he was the first person to use the MILD™ procedure nearly 10 years ago in Wisconsin. Dr. Philip was also the first physician in Wisconsin to implant Boston Scientific’s Spectra System for pain control in patients with severe pain.
